Mad Hair Day has long been a feature on HIP's fundraising calendar. We hold this event on the Friday of Brain Injury Awareness Week, a time where we try to raise awareness of the challenges facing people living with a head injury as well as fundraise.
During the week, individuals have done some crazy fundraising events including The Dragon Back Race and we have even conquered Snowdon with one of our members in his wheelchair. We host a Celebration Event which includes a sponsored walk and we ask businesses to support us on Mad Hair Day so lots of fundraising opportunities.
This year, everything is different for all of us, we are all feeling lonely and isolated in our own lockdown, so lots of the usual fundraising can't happen. However, Mad Hair Day can happen anywhere and I know that I would rather have crazy hair at home than out and about. Plus without trips to the barbers and hairdressers, you might have Mad Hair anyway!
So, please support HIP and show us your crazy hair, on a Monday or any day, they are all quite similar at the moment. Whether you're a key worker, working from home, or luckily sitting in your garden, take a photo, share it on our Facebook page @hipincheshire with #mymadhair and if you can, please donate £5 at https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/12725
Your donations will help HIP to survive this crisis and keep doing what we do. As long after Lockdown is over, our members will still be facing potential loneliness and isolation.
Thank you and if you have any queries or would like to support us in any other way, please contact lisa.forbes@hipincheshire.org.uk
