On Wednesday 27th February 2019 the HIP members met for the regular inter-coffee morning ten pin bowling competition. Over 30 HIP Members attended from all over the Cheshire including Chester, Ellesmere Port, Crewe, Macclesfield, Northwich and surrounding areas. They were split into 6 teams over 6 lanes and there was a lot of fun and banter. With local rivalries and bragging rights at stake it made for a very competitive and enjoyable event.
With rival teams checking each others scores as they went along, there were cheers and laughter as the matches progressed but it was soon over.
Whilst waiting for the results to be calculated, everyone got together over lunch for a chance to catch up and chat. and debate the outcome and wait for the presentation of the days winners.
It all went quiet when Ian announced the result, only a 4-point average had separated the teams. The overall winners were Ellesmere Port with a score of 98.8! The men's individual highest scorer was Keith with a score of 135 and the woman's award went to Kimberley with a score of 109, but well done to everyone who took part.
We thoroughly enjoyed the day and must thank the Bowling Centre for their hospitality and support throughout the day.
At the end of the afternoon the HIP members went their separate ways, with some discussing how they would win the trophy back next time. Watch this space!
