Afternoon Tea 2020 Style!

This time last year, we were busy making the final arrangements for our first Afternoon Tea event. We had chosen a fabulous venue, The Chester Grosvenor, had amazing goodie bags from Owen Drew and the room was going to be an autumn wonderland thanks to Maddison J Creations plus an inspirational talk from Keryn Legg about her own experience of brain injury. We also had lots of amazing raffle and auction prizes and a special thank you gift from Chatwins. But you never know how these things are going to go!
We couldn't have been more delighted with the result. The room looked amazing and the event was a great success. Everyone had a lovely time and enjoyed the beautiful food and we raised a fantastic amount of money, £4,200.
We had everything planned for October 16th this year but of course, that's not possible but in true HIP style, we won't let that stop us. HIP has continued throughout Lockdown and the current restrictions and we are still connecting people with a head injury, through virtual events and classes, so we still need to fundraise and spread awareness of the challenges our members face.
On October 16th at 1:30, we will be hosting a Facebook Live event so we can update you about what we've been up to while enjoying a cup of tea and a slice of cake. We will also do a prize drawer with the chance to win a voucher for Afternoon Tea for 2, midweek, at The Chester Grosvenor, £20 voucher from Chatwins so you can create your own afternoon tea and a voucher from Owen Drew Luxury Candles – it's as near as we can get to the event last year without actually being there. We will also announce the winning bids for a virtual auction which includes a signed Manchester United shirt and a portrait package donated by Andrew Collier Photography.
To get involved, we are just asking for a donation of £10. Don't worry if you can't make the Facebook event as you will still be included in the drawer and be in with a chance to win a lovely prize and have your own Afternoon Tea.
